From the Darkness, Comes the Light
Welcome back America! Inauguration today, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are sworn into office. The tyranny and confusion over the last four years has ended. Hope and faith returns to America and the entire world as we all are still battling Covid-19’s deadly assault on the human race. Let peace prevail and better days ahead for this New Year and the next – T.S.Garp

The Winter of Our Discontent
I first came up with the idea for the fictional story called “The Doomsday Chronicles” back in 1996. I was inspired by the LA riots of the early 1990s to write a screenplay treatment about it. The first draft of a rough screenplay was written in 1997, but my original story concept was too complicated, too big, and too controversial for a movie script. So, I put the story away for 17 years (thinking no one wants to read this sci-fi prediction). Until 2014, I tried again, wrote 30 more pages of the script, but it too proved overwhelmingly huge as stories go, and needed vast amounts of detailed information, research, futuristic world design, and character development.
Finally, I wrote a 300-page book version of “The Doomsday Chronicles” starting in 2016. And after many delays, it was published in 2018. Some of my writing friends were excited to read the novel, while others complained about the controversial subject of race and hatred in America.
The book is supposed to be science fiction about a secret spy organization run by the United States DIA’s Psychic Warfare Defense Program that uses human-probes (ESP-Spies) to monitor and stop terrorism around the world. By 2029, racial tension is at an all-time high in America and around the world. A militaristic white supremacist group in the United States has created a doomsday weapon based on the designs by dead scientist Nikola Tesla. Known as the WWA, the terrorist ultimate goal is taking over the American government, replacing it with a fascist leader, begin world domination, insurrection, assassination, nationwide riots, and plots to instigate a race war. DIA agents David Jones and Katy Martin try to stop this madness, following the clues to the WWA’s hidden underground base, globe trekking espionage, and avoid getting killed themselves before this insane terrorist group destroys the entire world.
The novel is an action-packed mystery with paranormal overtones. I set “The Doomsday Chronicles” in the not-too-distant future, so I never thought I would be living in a time where my book foreshadowed events that are similar and happening today.
The recent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021 was both shocking and predictable. The result of the Republican Party enabling fascist President Trump’s destructive behavior. This was an assault on democracy that turned into an invasion. The white supremacist group that day were pro-Trump militants, the same terrorist group that attacks the Black Lives Matter demonstrators. The white supremacist groups of today are working on the same goal as in my book of taking over the democratic United States government and starting a race war. Truth is stranger than fiction. (And a sad reality we all live in.) – T.S.Garp

All Things Must Pass
Despite the pandemic and the constant threat of Coivd-19, the seasons change, time goes on, and life continues. We’re in October, a favorite time of the year in my house. Though travel during this year is somewhat limited, you can still celebrate the joys of Autumn. The cooler climate, the rain, hot coffee, the fireplace, the cozy comfort, the orange-red trees outside, and of course, Halloween. Holiday decorations are going to be a main attraction this year as Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner. An excellent time to watch some good movies too or read your favorite book. But first, we’re going to enjoy all the scary-goodness that comes with Halloween – T.S.Garp

The Summer of Isolation
The new normal. Everything is done remotely. Social distancing is in full force, standing six-feet apart, and public mask wearing is mandatory. Harsh, but necessary to maintain good health right now. All is not lost. It’s nice to be able to work and communicate with co-workers, friends, and family online. I’m still in the Writer’s Room working hard on several scripts and I’m continuing to write down new chapters for my next long-awaited book. May we all have a great and safe summer. And continue to believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel from all this mayhem. We must be brave and cherish everything and everyone we have today, for you never know what could happen tomorrow. We can only hope that the future is greater than yesterday – T.S.Garp

Pandemic!
The entire world is overcome by a global pandemic. The type of which has not been seen since the influenza pandemic of 1918, almost 100 years ago! Interesting to note, Sylvia Browne, the late American author and clairvoyant medium with psychic powers had years ago predicted the Coronavirus to hit in the year 2020. The death toll from this deadly virus worldwide is mind-boggling and overwhelmingly sad. LA and New York City streets are now deserted. Every major city in the USA is a ghost town. Nothing will be the same again as we go on lockdown. Welcome to the year of confusion, disorder, hardship, and fear. 2020 is the year that will either make us or break us. Let’s make a stand and resolve to win this battle in the year of grief and remain hopeful that we’ll discover a cure – T.S.Garp

Christmas Cheer!
May you all have a Happy Christmas Holiday! As we near the end of 2019, reflection comes to mind. It’s been an amazing year of changes, revelations, and achieving long-term goals. Stay focus everyone in whatever you do. Follow your heart’s desire, don’t settle. You have to be dedicated to the vision you have deep in your soul. Do not shy away from the path you are destined to travel. Be bold without fear or limitations. Let imagination be your freedom and inspiration your guide. Create what you want to see. And embrace this wonderful holiday season with friends and family. Spread the joy of Christmas cheer! And I’ll see you all, after the New Year – T.S.Garp

‘Tis the Season
I’m feeling the spirit of the holidays! A great time for family and friends to gather and
rejoice in life. Thanksgiving celebration is just a week away and I am thankful for everything and everyone in my life. I’ve been really busy of late, writing and completing two major screenplays. Both scripts are different genres, one a supernatural-like TV pilot and the other a neo-noir period crime mystery drama. Still, working on rewrites and new drafts, and have several more screenplays to work on in 2020. This is a great time to turn ideas into reality – T.S.Garp

Wonderful Autumn is Upon Us
My favorite time of the year is the Fall season. The colors of the landscape change, the cooler weather brings rain, and the coming holidays sparkle with a joy that cannot be contained. Full of candles by night, Halloween ghost that fright. Pumpkin patches that delight, drinking apple cider that taste right. Go on a hayride, watch some leaves fly by, and have a piece of pie. Decorate your home, put some candy in your mouth, roast the marshmallows in the fireplace, and settle in your cozy house. Autumn season is finally here, a welcome change my dear, always brings a joyful tear – T.S.Garp

New Press Release for The Doomsday Chronicles
A science-fiction and spy-thriller! In the tradition of “Men in Black” and “The IPCRESS File” and “Hellboy” comes an epic story about two agents working at a secret government counterespionage division known as the Tranquility Lab. The black ops agency uses remote viewing, psychics, and trained sleuths to solve mysteries and threats against the United States. Only this time, they discover a doomsday weapon in the hands of an unknown terrorist group designed by the late scientist Nikola Tesla, and a murderous superhuman bent on killing those with telepathic abilities.

Welcome to April! The New Year thus far is feeling good. Transforming the old into the new. Springtime sets in motion the will to find a creative solution to the big picture in my life. This means focusing on connections, relationships, special projects, and common long-term goals. Action speaks louder than words. It’s time to break free of old patterns and hang-ups. Gothic Novel in the works
My next book project is an exciting story in the realm of magic, mystery, and mayhem. A much anticipated classic Gothic tale, set in modern times. This is will be my first YA/NA (Young Adult/New Adult) fiction, with plenty of supernatural and paranormal elements making this an exciting story as the main character enters a creepy place full of secrets, discovers her true heritage, and the dangers that lay ahead – T.S.Garp

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Taking a much desired vacation with family and friends this winter holiday. I will be traveling all over California, to places like Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Vegas was on the list, but we can’t take a month off. The Doomsday Chronicles is finally completed. This long-awaited book was overdue a year ago, if not sooner than that. It has been a trying time since the beginning of 2018 to reach this point. New Year Blues
I’m a believer on certain superstitions. Like the first day of New Years could predict the outcome for the whole year. We all want a good day to start the year off right. But even I know first impressions can be wrong. If you wait and see what transpires later, things could change. Does it get better or stay the same or get worse? Writing, like people, could suddenly change into something better than you expected or alter into something you don‘t want to be bother with. So I’m keeping the door open. Staying optimistic this year – T.S.Garp

A Light at the End of the Tunnel
Rewrites! Rewrites! Rewrites! I’ve learned that nothing is final until it’s final. Like movie scripts that go through constant rewrites and some get stuck in developmental hell, a kind of limbo existence that rarely sees the light of day or completed into a final film. Been there, done that. It’s up to you to make it through. Never give up! I’m writing on Mount Everest and can see the top. I just have to get there – T.S.Garp

Back on Track
In late 2014, I began to work on my unfinished book, The Doomsday Chronicles which was put aside for many years prior. But later in 2015, I got so busy writing other book projects that I ended up putting it on the shelf once again. I wrote two completely other books that were non-fiction instead. The last one was published 6 months ago, Sci-Fi: The Best of the Classics.
Now, I endeavor to complete what I started. I plan to have the entire manuscript for The Doomsday Chronicles overhauled and re-edited. Since my story has a bit of political history in it and high-tech gadgets, I need to fully update it to our present time period, and to lay the groundwork for future tech, since the story takes a place a few years into the future, right up to the moment of publication. Man, I love writing – T.S.Garp

Sci-Fi: The Best of the Classics
Continuing on my film genre series, I’ve published another new book on great cinema that is coming to your favorite store outlet near you, online retailer or easily ordered from my website. The title, Sci-Fi: The Best of the Classics, explores this interesting genre and examines why these films are so visually fantastic, combined with speculative literature full of mad scientists, monsters, aliens, space battles, time travel, villains, and heroes.
This is my second book based on great films that covers my interest in cinema, look for futures volumes in this exciting new series that will showcase other film genres and topics. All my books are highly informative, insightful, entertaining, and a respectful nod to great filmmakers of the pasts and present – T.S.Garp

Film Noir: The Best of the Classics
Here at last! The new book is out and coming to a store outlet near you. The title, Film Noir: The Best of the Classics, explores why these films are so visually stunning to look at, combined with brilliant writing from crime thriller novels, boasting cynical detectives, femme fatales, and a slew of killers around every corner.
This will be the first book of a possible series of books based on my interest in cinema that will cover most genres. These books will be especially interesting to fans and filmmakers. Film Noir: The Best of the Classics covers some of the best films ever made on that particular genre, covering story, plot, characters, motives, and it also goes in-depth into the production of each film reviewed, from actors, directors, producer, writers, and cinematographers. Chalk full of information and historical facts, it makes for great conversation and demonstrates why these films are so compelling to watch – T.S.Garp

Happy New Year!
We’re back! Had a great time visiting the Far East. The place is totally awesome, huge beautiful temples, seeing a massive golden Buddha on the mountaintop, visiting Angkor Wat, meeting very nice people, and enduring the extremely warm climate. The multitude of motorcycles on the road and everywhere were staggering. But luckily, some of my relatives living there knew how to get about easily. We traveled everywhere by foot, between hiking up the mountainous trails and traveling by minivan to Thailand from Cambodia to riding the local Tuk Tuk taxis. My niece was also nice enough to give me a ride on her fast moped. The street food was surprisingly good. The experience was amazing and one of the best vacations I ever had! – T.S.Garp

I’m still waiting for Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) to race by my street in that cool looking DeLorean time machine of his. He should be zipping into our time period any time soon today from 1985. Final Curtain
Sad to report, Christopher Lee, past away earlier this month, he was one of my favorite actors in horror films, a legend right up there with Peter Cushing, Vincent Price, and Boris Karloff. Lee is best known for playing Count Dracula, he was one of the last remaining actors from that Golden Age of Cinema and most famous in Hammer Films. Most people today would remember him from Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. His death ends an era of classic horror films, he was 93. RIP – T.S.Garp

Happy New Year!
Welcome 2015! Next month begins officially the Year of the Sheep. As I already predicted this is going to be a busy time for me, generally speaking this is going to be a productive start for most everyone this year, time for introspective, diplomacy, sharpen talents, fine-tune your intuition, and taking those creative risk, steps, and planned goals to your success. The Doomsday Chronicles
My new book “The Doomsday Chronicles” is coming along quite nicely for this November of 2014. I’m still in another process of rewriting some pages and editing. Getting good feedback from friends and editors. I’ve written many fictional stories and scripts along these lines before and this spy-action-science fiction tale is no different for me. I hope my characters, setting, and premise is grounded enough in this near future reality to be authentic and entertaining. I have elements of the classic Cold War era mixed with future tech, science fiction, and the evolution of Mankind. Not giving anything away too much, but the story is controversial, epic, social commentary, and spy yarn rolled into one!
Even though my concentration is dully on the new book, I’m really excited about my next two books also in the works, one is a Gothic novel and the other is a spiritual trek tale. All in all, looking forward to the having a great Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends, and wishing everyone everywhere a happy harvest day – T.S.Garp

The Red Book
A sneak peak. I recently unveiled a concept design for my new book: The Doomsday Chronicles.
Really liking the simple red book cover (not sure of the artwork yet) and hopefully keeping that style overall. All my previous books evoke a certain color of emotion like green, blue, black, depending on the theme of the book, and cover art or photograph adding to the mood as well. There is a method to my madness when concerning graphic art design. The book is transforming with the manuscript expanding a bit (even with edits), not sure yet if this is going to be a Novella under 50,000 words or a full Novel up to 100,000 words. Time will tell – T.S.Garp

New Novel Coming Soon
My new novel is coming along great, I’ve been working on several drafts and edits since last year from a treatment I wrote a long time ago, most likely this polished manuscript will be in print sometime in 2015 or TBA when finalized. I’m very excited about this particular story, and even more excited about completing yet another book in the works that is unrelated story-wise to this book. Both new books coming covers subjects I have been deeply interested in for years. I’m going to keep the title secret of this latest book for now, but the new book contains action, a mystery, and intrigue with an anti-hero protagonist. Sounds good to me! – T.S.Garp

Icons All
What a sad time for Hollywood, indeed the entire world for the sudden departure of great and talented film stars. Last month in July we saw the loss of James Gardner, one of my personal favorite movies stars of all time who later made The Rockford Files, one of the best shows on TV in the 1970s. Than in August we lost 3 more stars, Arlene Martel (Spock’s Wife in Star Trek), the legendary, Lauren Bacall (To Have And Have Not, The Big Sleep, Key Largo), and the late great comic genius Robin Williams (The World According to Garp, Good Morning, Vietnam, Dead Poets Society, Awakenings, The Fisher King, Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Good Will Hunting.) No words could describe how tragic the loss is to so many fans around the world at this time. Myself included. May they all Rest in Peace. – T.S.Garp

The Joy of Printed Books
All writers should read as much as they can. I love to read everything especially printed books. There is defiantly something of a joy whenever you can pick up a good old book in your hands and flipping through the pages anytime any year without a battery or charge. Sounds silly, but classic books can last beyond one’s lifetime and can be passed down to future generations to read. I have been spending a lot of my time between watching old films, reading, and attentively writing on my 5th book manuscript. (You heard it here first!)
No matter how you are getting your book-fix, whether by print version or eBook reading. Always try to keep the mind reading, asking, wondering, having that constant thrust for knowledge, the more you read and write, the better your writing is and your imagination grows, and the possibilities – T.S.Garp

Recuperating
Thanks everyone (friends and family) for all your loving thoughts and prayers, and visiting me while I was in the hospital for several weeks. I really appreciate that. What happened? I had to undergo an emergency and sudden major heart operation. A traumatic and surprising aspect to say the least and a scary one. Happy New Year! Welcome Year of the Horse!
With the holidays over its time to concentrate on long-term goals for 2014. New Year. New Start. New Beginning. The Year of the Horse suggest this is a great opportunity for expressing “Being You” and experiencing a transformation of yourself into what you want the most, with goals, with dreams, and things yet unseen. A time of concentration, motivation, and exploration of the new and old ideas that play on your mind, giving you just enough of a push to make the leap forward to materializing your deepest aspirations. This is especially good news for artist and writers. My New Year’s resolution is to do just that and to conquer whatever fate brings. I’m working on several rough drafts of more than one manuscript that I hope will translate well into another book this year. Time well tell – T.S.Garp

Winter’s Angel
She was part of the Divine Plan as was Man
As she watched the sky turn an opal color
A wintry gray-white shroud expanding for miles
Gliding down to observe this sacred happening
She smiled sweetly watching the radiant’s of the sun
Cascading sunbeams escaping behind the clouds
Shining onto small spheres falling in scattered clutters
Sailing down on the wisp of the slightest breeze
Tiny crystalline cotton balls of holy water droplets
Changing colors as the light passed through them
Floating majestically to bathe the landscape in white
Winter’s angel, rejoiced with the people at the sight
Closing her eyes, giving a silent blessing through the mist
The fair angel of winter sighed at the joy of all of this
She evoked love to every living thing below
Let this continue, until next spring after the snow

Finals Are Over
As if I did not mention it before months ago. I just completed a full semester of college beginning in August of this year. I had the time and opportunity to expand on some writing-related college courses and it’s always good to further one’s academic prowess whenever possible. I’m glad I did and look forward to taking another semester next year. Returning to college was very intense, eye-opening, fun, and wonderful. Today’s technology makes it so much easier. I surely have mellowed over the years because even though its seemed fast paced with a heavy work-load mostly of reading chapters, test, and homework assignments, it was completely doable and non-stressful experience than when I was younger. I received a 4.0 for my effort and feel my head just got a little bit bigger. This is why I was so busy these past months and I hope it translates to better writing, foresight, and wisdom on my end for future work waiting to be published from the depths of my mind – T.S.Garp

Celebrate, Enjoy Life and the Holidays!
Giving a Happy Thanksgiving shout out to all my friends and family, here and overseas! I love all you guys! May all your holidays be filled with happiness and kindness. Make it a great day, everyday! Enjoy this time with family and friends during this thankful holiday season. I’ve enlisted myself (boldly) to do half the cooking this year, always good idea to have a second pair of hands in the kitchen, a glass of wine, and saves time. It’s going to be great! Take care, everyone everywhere – T.S.Garp

Happy Halloween!
Halloween is here and everyone is full of cheers. A haunting we go as the airwaves, cities, and towns are transformed into beacons of the macabre, terror, and horror of spine-tingling thrills and scares that leave you breathless. I’m On Overdrive
Time seems to be flying by this Fall season and I’ve been so busy lately. I’ve been on overdrive these past few months, a “mindset wave” full of intense focus that starts before dawn and never ends until the weekend, can’t tell where the stack of books begins and I end, lol! Taking a mid term break, top of my list: more naps, reconnections with friends/family (more apps?), and getting my dose of sci-fi injections via too many books, games, and films out there to see and experience. (“Breaking Bad” was awesome by the way!) My book “Secrets of the Supernatural World” should be out on Nook and other venues soon (an oversight) and on sale at a special price just in time for the coming holidays which seem to start earlier and earlier every year. Be it a blur or a dream, our existence is what it seems. Happy Friday, Saturday, and Sunday everyone! Enjoy the weekend – T.S.Garp

Autumn Life
As the summer-weather tries to hang on one minute longer, I can’t wait for colder winds to kick in and announce it’s actually Autumn. It is Autumn isn’t it? This is October, right? Pumpkins are appearing everywhere in public and my pumpkin spice is happily mixing with my coffee these days. Fall decorations are out in force and Christmas is just around the corner. I hear possible snow fall for the mountaintops whenever the weather starts to get cooler, but I would be happy for it just to rain some, and I can kick on the fireplace if it gets too cold. It’s been so hectic lately, I’ve been consumed by reading-writing assignments, thick books, working on side-projects, and I want to say thank you for those wishing me a bright birthday. Had a wonderful time with a triple-stack cheesecake (birthday) cake! Life is good! – T.S.Garp

The End of Summer
The End of Summer and the coming Fall season is upon us again. I’ve been so busy lately, it’s so good to relax over the Fall weekend enjoying the cooler weather, and reflect on accomplishments. Best to enjoy all the outdoor activities, travel/trips, sunny days, and grill cook’n you can while the weather is still pleasant, and build that paradise backyard you always wanted. This is also a great time to start a new book and dive into another world. Another good idea (if you have time between tannings) is to complete those assorted manuscripts you might have lying around gathering dust. Looking forward to October and all the coming holidays – T.S.Garp

Making Improvements
This year several of my other web sites are getting a major facelift. This is needed to remove clutter and outdated information. Hopefully, the new improvements, adjustments, and templates designs will express more “creative” up-to-date flow for 2013 and right into 2014. Because of time constraints and my other obligations, posting on blogs or up-to-the-minute tweets may take a bit of a backseat, but I will endeavor to post insights when time permits – T.S.Garp

Celebrations This Month
Celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, homecomings, and reunions this August marking another high point for the summer of 2013 with my family and friends! I had an incredible time with my cousin this August who came to visit his mother while promoting his new book. Both our new books were proudly displayed together at this large gathering of family and friends, an impromptu book party, wine, stories, laughter, dinner, and dessert. I’m very happy for my cousin’s authorship and we’re both on the long road of marketing venues, promotional plans, and we’re both even looking forward to writing our next series of books. (New eBook) Secrets of the Supernatural World
My new book Secrets of the Supernatural World is officially on Kindle Fire HD and iPad. As I mentioned to a cousin of mine (who also just wrote and published his first book), the completion of this new book “Secrets of the Supernatural World” has been a long and arduous journey for me, but a delightful one. As a writer you put a piece of your heart and soul into a book, and occasionally more (blood & sweat & tears). I’ve been interested and fascinated about this subject for years. The chapter list alone should spark some interest to readers fascinated by our cosmic connection, our universal consciousness, unsolved mysteries from ancient human history, and UFOs.
No set date yet for book signing, but this is going to happen in the future. In my spare time this also opens the door for my return to writing science fiction, horror, and fantasy tales. A prelude to my next set of books. TBA – T.S.Garp

Richard Matheson
Richard Matheson, an American author and screenwriter, passed away at the age of 87 on June 23, 2013. He is best known for his incredible work as a great horror and science fiction writer. Matheson’s literary works spans some 25 novels, virtually a 100 short stories, and screenplays for TV/film. He was also a major contributor to Rod Serling’s classic “The Twilight Zone” TV show.
He leaves us with a legacy of indelible stories like from Twilight Zone’s Nightmare at 20,000 Feet, The Invaders, and Steel episodes. He wrote “Duel” the theatrical film directed by Steven Spielberg in 1971. A Hollywood favorite many of Matheson’s novels and written work was adapted for film like: I Am Legend, What Dreams May Come, The Shrinking Man, A Stir of Echoes, The Legend of Hell House, and The Box from a 1970 short story “Button, Button” by Richard Matheson, all of which became Hollywood movies.
He certainly influenced me as a writer and fan of science fiction/horror stories. His writing style covered human nature, a humanist at heart with dark ambiguous outcomes that play right into the astonishing stories in fiction/fantasy. Stephen King has deeply respected Matheson’s work for years and quoted as saying “the author who influenced me most as a writer.” I credit Richard Matheson’s work alongside other very important writers of the 20th century that have also highly influenced me as a writer like H.P. Lovecraft, Ray Bradbury, and Robert A. Heinlein.
Richard Matheson was one of my all-time favorite sci-fi/fantasy writers. I’ve read most of his books and enjoyed his stories adapted for television and film. A very imaginative and prolific writer. R.I.P – T.S.Garp

The Odyssey of Making “Supernatural World”
My long awaited book began its genesis some 4 years ago from my articles and personal research for my quest of knowledge and the truth about the supernatural and my long-standing interest in UFOs. The original book concept was completed in September 2012, but later was expanded, updated, and re-edited for a new publication date set for April 2013. Adding photographs were an option and would have ideally suited the nature of the book, but ultimately this may happen in a future deluxe version of the book at a later date. The book is rich in historical fact, speculation, and controversy – T.S.Garp

Roger Ebert
“Kindness” covers all of my political beliefs. No need to spell them out. I believe that if, at the end, according to our abilities, we have done something to make others a little happier, and something to make ourselves a little happier, that is about the best we can do. To make others less happy is a crime. To make ourselves unhappy is where all crime starts. We must try to contribute joy to the world. That is true no matter what our problems, our health, our circumstances. We must try. I didn’t always know this and am happy I lived long enough to find it out – Roger Ebert
On April 4th 2013 the world said good-bye to Roger Ebert. He was 70. Most famous as a film critic for the Chicago Sun-Times since 1967. Ebert was an American journalist, film critic, and screenwriter. In 1975, he was the first film critic to win the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism. I can remember Roger Ebert in my youth watching him on the PBS show Sneak Previews with critic Gene Siskel; both helped popularized the televised film reviewing. Their trademark thumbs up or thumbs down could make or break a movie. Ebert co-wrote the screenplay for the 1970 cult classic Russ Meyer film “Beyond the Valley of the Dolls” Roger Ebert was highly regarded as a film critic for his grace and respected opinions. R.I.P. Happy New Year! Happy Chinese New Year! Welcome Year of the Snake!
With the holidays over its time to concentrate on the New Year of 2013 and conquering it. I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Christmas and New Year’s celebration. WE all did survive Dec. 21, 2012 despite the hype, but now we must face the unknown of 2013. The Southern hemisphere is battling extreme heat while the rest of us in the Northern hemispheres are enduring record breaking cold weather. Perfect weather to sit near the fireplace and get lost in some of the new horror books I’m reading right now.
The Year of the Snake is going to be a good year for make or break endeavors, marking a turning point, a change for the better with new possibilities and doors opened. This will affect people in many different ways in relationships and business ventures. This is good for everyone, a cleaning process, especially for creative artist setting long-term goals and dream-plans that will help strengthen and encourage their thoughts. The path this year might be a widening one, full of twist and turns that might seem like setbacks, but it will help set a truer you for what you really need in life. Philosophical I think so.
Am I a gadget nut? New tech is a great distraction for me as I try to hammer out another re-edited version of one of my manuscripts. Now set to be publishing in early 2013 hopefully before the Spring Equinox in March. Enjoying the new International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) for 2013 in Las Vegas with keynotes from Samsung, a special appearance from President Clinton, and the hottest new tech gadgets in every showroom. Love this place! The future is here already and gaining high-tech creditability beyond Star Trek to Star Wars – T.S.Garp

Holidays Have Arrived
The Happy Holiday of Thanksgiving has come and gone. Had a very good time with family and friends. I did my share of cooking and eating. I’m very thankful for health, home, and comfort. Christmas tree is already up and sparkling, and awaiting presents which will be here soon enough.
On the writing front seems my non-fiction full length supernatural/UFO book (I started writing earlier this year) is hitting a publication blockade as literary agents seem more interested in YA paranormal fiction than a documented fact-base manuscript dealing with real paranormal cases. At least my replies are nice and encouraging. My book probes the bizarre, unexplained, and unsolved mysteries from history to our present time. I’m very proud of it and it took me years to compile. I may have to go another route, re-edit, send out more query letters, and think about publication by other means. Another non-fiction book I’m working on still needs to be modified before serious contenders will read it. No matter, I have a fiction book up my sleeve that I’m working on that should be interesting. Time will tell. Never give up on the voice inside of you – T.S.Garp

Autumn Brings That Déjà Vu Feeling
Autumn is such a beautiful time of year. The entire landscape changes color and our thoughts are suddenly preoccupied with friends and family as the holiday season begins. This festive period just before snowfall not only brings together people and cultures, but also reminds us how precocious life is and to go out and live a life worth living. Enjoy this time and remember those long gone that came before us. We celebrate the living and the dead.
I have been very busy of late finishing up manuscripts, edits, and query letters. I need to update software (Santa Claus can you hear me) and re-write some of my lingering screenplays that need a fresh look. I’ll be able to give more details of the outcome of that later on. I must confess as the coming holidays are upon us they are a welcome distraction. Starting with one of my favorite holiday celebrations where you get to wear your costume of choice and have fun: Halloween. Happy Halloween everyone! Here is my homage to this fun holiday: Halloween Night – T.S.Garp
Ad Link: http://socyberty.com/holidays/halloween-night-2/
As the night clouds close in blocking out the shinning of the moon, even the stars are barely visible as the bewitching hour’s approaches. You travel along the wooded dark path and hear the sound of the dead coming back to life to terrorize the local town and cities. Thunder roars, a flash of lightening blinds you, and the night wind envelopes you with a blood curling chill to the bone. There is no turning back now as the dead have taken over the neighborhood. You can see them creeping in the darkness, some flying, some walking, some running, some even laughing as they go from house to house taking offerings of food that await them. The Haunting begins! Glowing pumpkins dominate the landscape, howling banshees sending shivers up your spine, frightening headless horseman searching for a new head to chop, wicket witches gathering their brooms for flight, blacks cats leaping about from dark corners, smoking cauldrons boiling an eerie brew, dungeon chains rattling, screams of fair maidens go unheeded, haunted mansions looming in the distant, zombies looking for a human snack, ghost and ghouls moaning from hidden places, monsters all celebrating this Halloween night! The dead have arrived and there is no escape, they have even invaded the Magic Kingdom for heaven sakes. Enjoy this ancient festival of the dead my friends, for heed my warning, for we will surely be among them in the end – T.S.Garp

Thank You!
I would like to thank everyone for wishing me a happy birthday! Wow, I received a lot of birthday wishes from family, friends, fellow writers, and fans this year. I greatly appreciate every single one with up most gratitude. I’ll be celebrating by taking a few more road trips to interesting and exotic places, and relaxing while I enjoy some ice coffee and the ocean breeze on the last days of summer.
I’m reminded that true love and well-being can manifest from that creation of the right moment between certain people and mother nature, from a friend’s warm smile, or the loving embrace from a family member that is free, unexpected, unselfish, unplanned, sudden, deep emotion, that not only gives us strength, hope, but uplifting faith for a lifetime – T.S.Garp

Neil Armstrong
First man to walk on the Moon has died. Astronaut Neil Armstrong past away on Saturday. He was 82. Very sad news. I can remember growing up how I always wanted to be an astronaut and venture into outer space. Watching shows like Star Trek with their wonderful technology and philosophy, and watching the NASA space shuttles launch into orbit routinely to a waiting space station were exciting to me. Many people are still longing for that pristine future as presented in the classic sci-fi film made in 1968 called 2001: A Space Odyssey. Yes, we all wanted that remarkable futuristic world with moon bases, huge circular space stations, technology benefiting mankind, and brave astronauts leading the way to other planets like Venus, Mars, and Jupiter and beyond. But history will show kindly that the first men to reach the moon came back humbled and proud. The sight of the most beautiful cool blue world known to man as Earth is incomparable as seen from the moon‘s surface. So thanks Neil Armstrong for making a giant leap for mankind and showing the world that it is possible to walk on another planetoid. He is truly an inspiration. God speed.

The Traveller Returns
I have been away on holiday on a much needed vacation and it was quite an adventure of excitement and relaxation indeed. Glad to be back and ready to continue the steady pursuit of polishing up manuscripts, treatments, and pitches. Just taking a break, even just for a few days is good for the soul to relax and have fun with life. I always have a set of new projects and goals on the forefront waiting for me to complete. I am still sending out query letters and proposals in search of the right publisher/agent for my next book; a never-ending process. A Good Reminder
In December of 2011 on my Jabberwocky blog I posted an answer to a growing question I noticed that a lot of new writers were asking about in some of the writing communities I visit. The question was how long should my chapters be? As long as they need to be. Standard is about 20-40 pages, but can be as little as 3-4 pages. Chapters express key points in the plot of a story and should be as long as it takes to tell that particular idea/moment with a purpose pertaining to the overall plot of the story in your book – T.S.Garp

New Books Coming
A prediction! My new book is coming soon, a non-poetry/non-fiction book. I’m not giving away any details as yet; it is a surprise after all! The new book is based on a fascinating and popular subject, long over due from me, now being edited and perfected as I write this. Another completely different book/manuscript is waiting for my much needed attention with further expansion and editing on the list of this to do. A rather personal book with mind-alternating concepts and ideas that friends might find interesting.
Designing new sites involving writing are in the works. Next, phase is trying to entice a good literary agent or publishing company for my next book. I am shopping around and beginning the process of sending out query letters. Hopefully, my new manuscript will be worthy of representation from a reputable literary agency. Keeping my fingers cross. Time will tell and I’ll post the outcome. Keep writing and keep dreaming everyone! New Book Covers
Ok, I guess I am a bit of a perfectionist at heart, but one needs to be to keep improving especially when and where it ought to be. Take my old book cover designs for instance, done on the fly, and never to my complete satisfaction. But all that has finally changed for the better as I have recently unveiled my new book covers that really rock. Amazing improvement overall, I must say, much better looking, and suddenly better marketing tools being utilized by myself to get the books out there. A never-ending process, but well
worth it.
I am very happy that the books are getting exposure and are now is being marketed in major book stores and in Europe too. All three books have received a completely new book cover-facelift that look remarkably better. Each book has been re-edited and expanded recently. I’m sure Kindle versions are just around the corner as I am checking on the multiple options out there for the best e-Book conversion process. I am working hard to complete my other non-poetry books that are coming soon! Ray Bradbury
The iconic Ray Bradbury dies at 91. A wonderful writer, a true visionary who could spin tales so full of imagination and brilliance. Some of my personal favorite books by Bradbury are Fahrenheit 451, The Martian Chronicles, The Illustrated Man, Something Wicked This Way Comes, I Sing The Body Electric, The October Country, R is for Rocket and S is for Space.
A recipient of the Pulitzer Prize award for lifetime work in fantasy and science fiction literature. His numerous short stories, novels, and screenplays like Moby Dick and The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms are superb. He joins the list of my all-time favorite writers that I have read over the years who have passed on and left a legacy of awe inspiring words that has made the world a more interesting place with their insight and imagination like Robert A. Heinlein, Author C. Clarke, and Isaac Asimov. Read The Washington Post news article on Bradbury’s life. RIP Bradbury – T.S.Garp

But that’s alright if you missed that closing date for this site still has everything for screenwriters, filmmakers, actors might want to check out like contest, festivals, radio, video, and trailers. You can submit your best work on scripts, poetry, pictures, films, and gain feedback on all submissions. If you didn’t make that target competition date that is ok, Wild-sound has numerous contests and festivals going on all the time, usually monthly. A great place to network with writers, agents, directors, and producers. – T.S.Garp

Running With Nature
Wow! What an incredible run. I just completed a 20 mile trail run while celebrating Earth Day. Surrounded by nature, blue sky, mountains, and trees! Spectacular views. Met awesome people on the trail. Everyone had there own pace and all were seeking that special place just beyond the horizon or at least over the next hill.
Ayn Rand, philosopher & playwrighter, had said “a creative person is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others,” and that is certainly true for me on runs like this where it’s the journey that matters not how fast you get there. I’m motivated to always continue the climb (metaphorically speaking), always have the desire to learn and achieve something new, push yourself, do your best, always live for the joy of it, and the sheer experience of it. Look around at nature and see. Relax the mind and see the harmony, and know that the harmony is also in you. Move and think with a positive purpose. Believe in yourself and you are already half way there! – T.S.Garp
“Nature” is what we see
“Nature” is what we see
The Hill — the Afternoon
Squirrel — Eclipse — the Bumble bee
Nay — Nature is Heaven
Nature is what we hear
The Bobolink — the Sea
Thunder — the Cricket
Nay — Nature is Harmony
Nature is what we know
Yet have no art to say
So impotent Our Wisdom is
To her Simplicity. – Emily Dickinson

National Poetry Month Begins
April 4, 2012
April is here, the sun is returning, and warmth is filling the air. Spring is breathing life back into the land and poets gain renewed inspiration at the sight of all of this. The previous months before April seem more like cold-hearted dreams. Like being in a state of moving, numbing limbo, hibernating the senses…..
The National Poetry Month begins now in April. Read my article at BookStove.com for details and join in on this poetry celebration.

Creating Changes
Does the book fit the picture? Does the picture match my words? Creating a living portrait of your thoughts, ideas, places, and things yet unseen.
Nothing is ever set truly in stone my friends unless of course you’re building the pyramids. We must be like water, always flowing, always changing, to be formless, and become something else, and yet still remain the same. Yes, I saw the (recently) Bruce Lee story on broadcast cable, remembering his inspiring words, and his great philosophy on life. He lived a lifetime in a very short span of time.
I have been way too busy and absent these last few months. Redesigning and transforming blogs and web sites to come are a constant process and my goal to complete. Much like writing and art, when it flows, it flows well, and when it does not it lingers to a stall, and gets misplaced, and loses its sharpness. Constant creativity and fresh ideas, and a positive outlook will get you there. After the blog reconstruction of Jabberwocky, I’ll start posting more writing news, tips, and thoughts of the day on that site.

With Words That Come, Poet’s Poetry
What words come forth may bring a delight to a summer’s gloom or add a splash of insight to a mystery that has hindered us from knowing our true nature of how things are and what God has decreed. Our thoughts strung with words we barely can understand and yet knowing that they are true and as real as the wind that touches our skin and breaths life into our wading souls seeking a clear meaning and a path of enlightenment. We are Gods creations on a soul‘s journey. We are created to understand by watching, by doing, by forgiving, by creating, and by learning the lessons that befall us, and impart the great wisdom of God’s glory and loving hand. We are all poets of life. Trying to get it right. – T.S.Garp

Blue Mountain Arts
I have been too busy to really write a good blog lately. I’ve been writing new poetry and still have to complete other manuscripts on my desk. So many interesting projects happening all at once and a great start for 2012…. Really enjoy the fast pace and deadlines. I’ll try to keep updates and post writing tips and general information I come across on the air-waves and impart them here.
